Step It Up Entrepreneur

May 25, 2022

Each and everyone of us has our own path.  Some paths are wide, paved, and go in a straight line.  Others are jagged, butted up against the side of a ridged mountain, and leave only room for your feet to walk.  Many people have walked the various paths on this planet, but the same path does not belong to everyone.  You are on your own journey.  There is no right or wrong, but lessons learned along the way that belong to each individual. You must gain the experience through making mistakes, knowing success, and eventually becoming wise. But it doesn’t stop there. Along your journey, you’ll be called to help others even when you don’t have much to give except your hands, your heart, and your work ethic. Today’s guest has walked a million miles and survived things most people wouldn’t. Today, he shares his story.

Dustin Johnson, Personal Coach, is a dynamic and focused human being.  He’s a best-selling author of the book, “Strength Through Struggle.” He’s a personal trainer and a nutrition savant. There aren’t many roaming the planet with close to 0% body fat, but Dustin is one of them. His main focus is to help others along their paths easily while avoiding the pratfalls of the human condition.

Today, Tom and Dustin dive in and talk about his background in being a husband of close to 13 years, fitness and nutrition coach, and how he just came in from off the road living in a bus. Tom shares how he and Dustin met and one invitation that struck up a friendship. Dustin talks about how he met his wife and they were both living miserably in marriage, running wild and with motorcycle groups. One day, Dustin and his wife Tonya decided to get their lives together.  Dustin shares how he decided to get clean and sober, and his first conversation with a psychologist that made him realize the true significance of his life.  He talks about doing the work starting with his health and getting his life back on track by simply using anything he had around him. Dustin reveals one of the most powerful transformations that happened to him in the last 2 years that changed his life.

Favorite Quote:

“You stop right where you’re supposed to stop. How many times have you woke up in the middle of the night thinking about someone? That’s not a coincidence. The first thing you do in the morning is you reach out to that person and check on them. We all want to be checked on. It doesn’t matter how much you make be it $5/hr, $500, $5,000, $500,000, or $5 million…..Ultimately at the end of the day, people just want to know that someone cares.”
